There is something special about airports that I just love. I get butterflies in my tummy every time we visit the airport.
I love waking up early in the morning and driving over Brisbane’s Gateway Bridge while the sun rises. I love people watching and trying to guess where people are travelling to or what they might be doing. Some travellers are dressed in suits or others dressed in casual travel gear. I watch them walk past walking with carry on luggage or pulling the suitcase on wheels. Pilots always wear their hat as a part of their uniform and often carry a suitcase. Air hostess always seem to have perfect hair and make up and look so beautiful, even the male hosts!
Parking is always expensive. Food is overpriced too. But there is nothing better than getting a hot cup of coffee in a take away cup early in the morning just before getting onto the plane.
Today I dropped of Nektarios to the airport as he is travelling for work. Even though it is not me travelling this time, the visit to the airport was still an amazing experience. It reminded me of all the places that we have been and all of the places that we still plan to travel to.
Visiting the airport today reminded me of that sense of adventure that I always get when we are travelling. It is unlike no other experience that I can compare it to.
Travelling, no matter what we travel for, is always exciting.
I remember that when I was younger I used to imagine myself in corporate clothes with my suitcase travelling the world for work. I did that 🙂 I also had dreams to live overseas and to travel through Europe. I did that too. Now, I want to share the travel experience with my children and continue travelling, but this time with my family. The photo in this blog post is one I took of Ari when we took him to Bali in 2016. I was pregnant at the time and it was our babymoon. This was Ari’s first oversea’s trip. We are yet to take Nia on an aeroplane. I’m looking forward to it though.
Our next trip might be somewhere local like Sydney or Melbourne. We are also planning an overseas trip to Cyprus or Fiji. Can’t wait to be travelling again. This time with my family of 4 xx
