Mums can get so excited about poo sometimes. It can be a little strange.
Today I’m celebrating Nia’s yellow poo!! It has finally changed color woohoo.
According to the normal nappies chart newborns should have yellow poo by day 5. However since Nia was in intensive care she started breastfeeding later and therefore she is a bit behind this schedule.
I found this schedule very helpful with my first and thought you might like it too.
All babies start with black poo. It’s called meconium. And you need to watch out for this… if baby does a black poo inside your belly during labour then you may have to have an emergency C.
The best thing to do is to keep your underwear / towels from when your waters break (or take a photo of it!) so that the midwives can see its colour and make an informed decision.
From 35/36 weeks onwards I would always drive my car with a white towel on my seat and use white sheets on my bed.
