It’s day 6 for us today and I’m sitting in the hospital bed reflecting on a crazy week we have had since my daughter was born. One day share my full birth story in a different post, however today I want to tell you about the 3 amazing phone apps that I have been using throughout the week. I used these 3 apps when my first child was born and I’m using them again every day now that my 2nd baby is here too. I highly recommend them to anyone else who has a newborn baby.
I LOVE this app!! It is my favourite app on my phone.
Tinybeans is a free app that allows you to privately share your baby photos with others. Don’t get me wrong, I love sharing stuff on Facebook however I just don’t feel like it is the place to post daily photos of my children.
At the same time, I still want to share my special moments with my family and friends – those who are close to us like our parents and our brothers and sisters. The app also allows people to post photos and videos into the family album. So, if my husband takes a photo on his phone then I will have access to it. It is a great way to collect, store and organise all of our photos and videos.
- Add your daily photos, videos, comments and other special moments to a family calendar
- Keep your posts totally private (if you want) or
- Share the posts with family and friends – the only people who can see your tinybeans calendar are those who you invite.
- Tag your other children and keep separate files for each of them
- Family members can leave comments and hearts on the daily moments
- Family members can also post their own photos and videos to the calendar
The free app gets your all the main features however they do have a paid version as well. I have upgraded to the paid version because it allows us to post longer sized videos and keep a back up of all our data.
If you don’t have tinybeans yet please download it here using my referral link. When you sign up using my link you will get access to the premium level of the ap for FREE!
2. BABY TRACKER
Baby tracker has helped me to understand and track my babies feeding journey. I have used it for both children now.
For my 1st child, the app really helped me to get my head around the whole breastfeeding process and to understand how my boobs were working. For my second child it has kept me focused on my feeding goals since my little one was in ICU and I had to hand express, pump and feed to a strict schedule for midwives to feed my baby on my behalf.
The app allows you to:
- Track all feeds including: breastfeeds, bottle feeds, pumps, mixed feeds etc.
- Track nappy changes for wet nappies and dirty nappies
- Track sleep
- Track temperatures
- Track medication
- Track growth and development
- Track milestones
- Track special moments
It also shares the data captured into graphs and is really easy to use.
I like this app because I love to keep track of my data – especially for important information regarding my baby’s health and development. I have a really bad memory and I can’t remember what happens from one feed to the next. When we have doctors visits, it is easy for me to just pull the information out of the baby tracker app and know that the information is accurate rather than trying to remember it all in my head.

3. WONDER WEEKS
As your baby starts to grow and develop, lots of changes occur. The wonder weeks app explains what these changes are and why your baby may do what he/she does. There is a book which I highly encourage any new parent to read, but the app on it’s own provides some really good insights to your baby’s development.
You won’t need to use wonder weeks straight away because the leaps don’t actually start for your baby until 4 weeks after their due date. However it’s nice to have it ready to go on your phone/device and to start reading ahead.

I have plenty of other apps that I like to use however these 3 are awesome for new parents to use after giving birth. I hope they help you with your parenting journey!
Do you use any of these apps?
Can you recommend another helpful app for parents?
