I first discovered Lucy’s blog Bake. Play. Smile when I was searching for Thermomix recipes on Pinterest. Lucy likes to bake and she posts delicious recipes that are both Thermomix and non-Thermomix. I baked her Malteser Bunny Chocolate Cupcakes for Eater. They turned out super cute and everybody loved them. I took a photo and published it on my Instagram account and tagged Lucy in the post. From then on, Lucy and I became social media friends and I started to stalked the poor girl on all of her social media networks lol.
I was lucky to meet Lucy in person at the ProBlogger Event this year along with a few other Thermomix Bloggers and we had a lovely chat about food, foursquare and baby prams. Then I asked her a few questions about her Thermomix.
Here is the interview:
When did you first get your Thermomix?
My hubby surprised me with a Thermomix for Christmas a couple of years ago. I’d been to a few demos and had fallen in love with them, but the cost just seemed huge. So, I was very lucky to get such a great Chrissy present!
You have a very generous hubby there!
Yep my hubby is amazing. We met when we were teenagers and he’s just the best guy.
How often do you use your Thermomix?
Every single day! I use it for all of my baking, lots of our dinners, smoothies, porridge… pretty much anything and everything.
What is your favourite recipe?
Hmm that’s a tricky one. Anything that is sweet! Probably my Creamy Lemon Crumble Bars – I really love them!!
What question do you get asked the most on your blog?
Whether or not I run cooking classes!! And no, at the moment, I don’t…. I just don’t have time! My focus is on Bake Play Smile and of course, the Thermomix dedicated website I co-own called ‘ThermoBliss’. I’m working on lots of different cooking eBooks at the moment and have also started mentoring other bloggers. So as much as I wish I had time for cooking classes (because it would be SO much fun… it’s just impossible at the moment).
What is your best advice for someone who just purchased a new Thermomix?
Have fun!! Just relax and enjoy it. Don’t look at whether a love the look of, and then figure out how you can use the Thermie to make it.
