I went to my first day of Themomix training on Saturday. I am finally starting my journey to be a Thermomix Consultant. It is super exciting.
Love at First Sight
I have wanted a Thermomix for a very long time now. I went to my first demonstration about two years ago and I fell in love with it as soon as I saw it. I knew that a Thermomix would be able to help me cook healthy food for my family and live a healthy lifestyle. However, I personally couldn’t afford to buy one at the time so the Thermomix went on my “one day wish list”.
My True Motivation
Now that I am pregnant and about to have a baby, I really, really, really want a Thermomix! A Thermomix is the perfect appliance for cooking baby food and I have so much more motivation to eat healthy and cook healthy food for my family. I want to do my very best to give my baby the best life possible and I know that it all begins with food.
Working Hard to “Earn” a Thermomix
Becoming a Thermomix Consultant is the perfect way for me to “earn” a Thermomix. At the same time I know that I will be able to make a bit of money to support my travel addiction and also learn more about cooking and healthy living in the process. Our baby is due in less than 4 months and so I plan to work really hard to pay off my Thermomix during this time frame.
Thermomix Training
My team leader and I met at the local library on Saturday morning and we sat in an air-conditioned room to work through all of the training books. I learnt heaps of information about the Thermomix TM5 and about the Thermomix brand. I still have two more training days to go until I can officially start taking demonstrations. I can’t wait 🙂
The Business Kit
I received my business kit and all of the awesome Thermomix goodies that I am going to need to become a consultant. It includes:
- A Thermomix Carry Bag
- Flip Charts
- Clipboards
- A Thermomix Apron
- Pens
- Recipe Cards
- Green Thermomix Tasting Cups
- All the Documentation Needed to Sell a Thermomix to clients
- Training Information & Brochures
I have a name badge on the way. It is getting specially made for me with my name “Sia” on it. I also purchased an extra Thermomix Recipe Book and Chip as optional extra to the business kit.
Practical Training
Next week I will need to do my practical cooking demonstration. At this training session, I will need to cook all of the recipes in front of my team leader. Eek! This feels a bit intimidating!! I hope I don’t stuff it up!
Well actually, it will probably be a better place to stuff up and learn rather than to make mistakes in front of potential clients.
I have a shopping list and now I need to go out and buy all of my ingredients to prepare and practice for my very first demo.
Scheduling Bookings
After my first day of training, I posted a few photos on my Facebook page. To my big surprise, I had an amazing response from a lot of family and friends. Their support for my new business has been amazing. I reached out to a few of my friends and asked them if they would be guinne pigs for my first batch of demos. I need to practice as much as I can and doing a demo in front of friends is a great place to learn.
After day 1 I have 7 demos booked in my diary! Yay!
Setting Goals
The whole process was actually much easier than I thought it would be. People are genuinely interested in the Thermomix and want to see what it can do. So, I didn’t have to do very much convincing or selling at all.
I want to sell 10 Thermomix in 60 days. That is my goal.
My team leader said that she has an average conversion rate of 1 sale per demo. However she has much more experience then me. So I need to be a bit more realistic. If I cut her conversion rate in half, perhaps I could aim to sell 1 Thermomix every 2 demos.
To sell 10 Thermomix appliances in 60 days with a conversion rate at .5 I will need to book in 20 demos. I have 7 so far, so that means I need to lock in another 13. I
That sounds easy enough. Let’s see how it plays out.
My Personal Goals
- Sell 1 Thermomix for every 2 demos
- Sell 10 Thermomix within 60 days
- Book at least 20 demos to kick start the business
Like My Facebook Page
I have started a Facebook group for my Thermomix business. I plan to share my favourite recipes and success stories from my clients. Hopefully it will also act as a customer support portal for my clients so that I can offer fast service and answer any questions that might be helpful for the whole group.
