My girlfriend bought her pram from a local baby market and she was thrilled with the fact that she got such a great bargain on a good quality product. Yes, it was second-hand, but the pram was really well looked after and just needed a bit of steam cleaning to sparkle it up again.
This got me thinking… do I really need to buy everything brand new? I wonder what else they sell at the baby market? Where are the baby markets around Brisbane?
After a quick google search here are the baby markets that I found around Brisbane:
1. Rock a Buy Baby Markets
The Rock a Buy Markets are run by two local mums: Michelle and Sheree. They actually run two separate markets:
- the Rock a Buy Baby Markets – a place for parents to buy and/or sell their quality baby and children’s items and
- the Rock a Buy Baby Boutique Markets – specialising in designer, handmade products for mums, kids and the home.

2. Mathilda’s Markets
The Mathilda’s Markets sell lots of different things such as clothing, bedroom decorations, furnishings, toys, must-have accessories, pretty and practical bags, vintage-inspired creations, musical instruments, jewellery, dress-up costumes, linen and heaps more. However they are also well-known for their gorgeous baby goods 🙂
I can’t wait to see what they have.

6. Zero 2 Five Markets
Karen is the owner and re-creator of the Zero 2 Five Markets. She is a single mum and knows how tough life can be as a parent. She says ” You need to save money everywhere you can, but you still want your children to have the very best that money can buy – that’s why we do what we do!”

I plan to go along to all of these markets. I signed up to their mailing lists, liked them on Facebook and put the market dates in to my diary. I want to see what they are like and perhaps pick up a bargain or two. I’ll report back and let you know the details of my shopping expeditions.
