Jeeping Around Samui – Part 1

We hired a Jeep so that we could drive around Samui and discover the Island. Nektarios felt confident enough to drive on the “crazy” Thailand roads and it is heaps cheaper than getting taxis everywhere. We didn’t really have a plan on where to drive to… so we just started driving!

First stop was the Big Buddha. (Note the stairs!)

On the ground level there was a Buddhist Monk blessing people (for a donation, of course) so we were blessed! These pics are on the SLR so I will upload them one day later.

The Big Buddha was surrounded by bells. Not sure what the purpose of these bells are but we paid for a wooden whacking stick and walked around the bells to ding them. It was fun!

Next stop was the look out. Beautiful views here.

And more stairs!
