Amsterdam is known for its Provincial Beauty, Progressive Social views, Red Light District (outlawed everywhere else in the world), museums and Anna Franks House.

A brief history…
– Largest City in the Netherlands
– Used to be a fishing village
– Amster River… dam in the Amstar.
– Cooperated In the persecution of Jews during WW2… many hid them e.g. Anna frank.

Getting Around…
– Arrive @ Central Station Tourist Info Desk outside Mon – Sat 8-10 Sunday 9-5
– Amsterdam Pass: free public transport, restaurant discounts, attractions

Attractions…
Central station… travel south… old fashioned streets and canals… camerac st… old commodity exchange…red light district… the outercourt…oldest parish church… mon-sat 11am-6pm…sun 1-5pm… the royal palace… guided tours…once the home of the royal Dutch family… south of the dam square is the entrance to the museum… coffee shops, book shops and bars… the cobweb canals’ (visit one of the houses…see the interior) once the homes of the wealthy generations of the pasts… Anna frank house… renaissance building… the American hotel…castle like exteriors… lake suplain…princinaht small canal ands streets…clothes etc. the park…popular park in Amsterdam… bike along its paths… free concerts on Sundays… the night watch… the most famous painting… Vincent van gough museum… the stages of his life… the sunflower series. Arrive early because there are long lines during the busy tourist seasons… Visit the Heineken Brewery.
