Blogging is my best form of reflection. It is also a documentation of my personal/professional development, my growth and journey as a human being.
Sometimes I get so caught up in the rules about blogging that I forget to actually blog.
Rather than write my thoughts and words down in a new blog post, I compile lists of things to do for my blog… for one day when I might have time… but I don’t actually write or publish anything. I get stuck on the scheduling, planning, photos, social media, SEO, structure, headlines etc etc.
The so called rules around what a blogger should do before hitting publish on a post can be paralysing for me.
Most of my blog posts and some of my best “personal” growth work have been published without perfection.
I feel like I am missing the fun of blogging if I’m caught up in all of the hype about how it should be structured and what it should look and sound like.
My gift to myself next year will be to blog without rules.
I am going to write for me. Not for an audience or for any kind of profit. I’m going to write, just because I want to.
This decision feels so empowering, so exciting, so liberating.
I am giving myself permission to have digital freedom here on my personal blog.
Follow my journey or feel free to unsubscribe. I really don’t mind if you opt out of my mailing list because I am writing for me. Frankly, I don’t care if anyone reads or not.
