Hello and welcome to my little place on the internet,
Sia’s Place is my personal blog. It is a documentation of my daily life, a notebook for my projects & thoughts and it is a platform for my online business.
Here are a few things you might like to know about me:
1. I’m a Mum
Everything can seem so overwhelming when you are a first time mum. It’s hard to know what products to buy, what preparation you need to do before the birth, what books to read and how to simply get through the day. It’s exhausting, it’s challenging and it’s also the most amazing experience that anyone could ever be blessed to have.
I certainly don’t have all the answers (nobody does) – I’m just trying to figure out this mummy thing as I go along.
2. I LOVE my Thermomix!!
In 2015 I became a Thermomix Consultant. I wanted to make my own baby food and I knew that having a Thermomix would change my life! I couldn’t afford to buy one at the time so I worked my pregnant butt off to earn one as a Consultant. It was so much fun and I’m super happy that I did it.
I write about my Thermomix journey with my clients and also with anyone who wants to listen to me rave on about it!
3. I’ve published a few cookbooks
Together with Chrystalla Tzaneros, we have been converting lots of delicious Thermomix recipes. We share lots of free recipes on our blog Fayi Cookbooks and in 2016 we published our first hard cover print cookbook MEZZE Small Plates To Share. In 2017 we published 3 ebooks and have big plans to continue the journey of converting all of our favourite family recipes so that they can be made in a Thermomix.
4. I love blogging
Yep, I love blogging and I love digital marketing. This blog Sia’s Place and the cookbook blog I mentioned earlier, are just two of my online spaces. I also have a blog about Greek Weddings and Traditions and an online shop which features beautiful handmade wedding and christening products – the Greek Wedding Shop.
5. I teach and I coach
Before becoming a mum and a blogger I did lots other things. I completed two university degrees – a bachelor in business and a bachelor of education. I teach hospitality and business subjects such as accounting, legal studies, BOM and BCT to high school students.
I also have years of experience in hospitality and I enjoy training teams of baristas, wait staff and chefs in small cafes and restaurants. I used to work for a well-known coffee franchise and I travelled Australia and internationally to do store openings and train new franchisees. I then went on to managing two of my own franchise stores.
Whilst I still coach a handful of cafe and restaurant owners, I am now retired from the hospitality industry and I don’t plan to work “the daily grind” behind a coffee machine again.
6. I love to travel
My husband and I both love to travel. Here is a list of all the places we have travelled to so far: Travelling Together
We try to save as much money as we can for travel adventures and we are always thinking about our next trip. I’m not sure where we will travel to next, but I do know that it will be soon. We take lots of pics and videos of the places we go to and I love to share them all here on my blog.
